If you Curl a Wig with Sponge Rollers

Step1: Brush your human hair wig with a a wide-tooth comb to remove all the tangles before curling it.

Step2: Create sections of hair using clips. Pull all the hair on top of the wig. Start curling your hair from the bottom layer.

Step3: Wrap a small section of hair around one roller at a time. Roll it all the way up to the root while keeping the hair as neat as possible. Clip the roller in place using the roller’s latch.

Step4: Apply heat to the rollers with a blow dryer, if your wig is natural hair.Set heating Setting to warm and airflow to high. Keep the hair dryer on each roller for no more than 60 seconds.

Step5: Remove the rollers from the wig. Gently uncurl each curl rather than pulling them out of your hair. Undoing them will make the curls of the wig more beautiful. Run your fingers through your curls for a more natural look.

If you curl your wig with a Curling Iron

Step1: Place your wig on your head or a mannequin head. You can curl your wig while it's in place on your head, if you like. This allows you to create exactly the style you want.

Step2: Heat the curling iron. A good heat setting to start with on a curling iron is 180 °F (82 °C), because it’s low enough where it won’t cause damage, but it still curls the hair.

Step3: Comb out the wig so it’s free of tangles. To brush it, use a wig brush or wide-tooth comb, which will detangle hair a lot easier than a hair brush or a comb with closer-set teeth.

Step4: Section off the wig hair evenly using a rat-tail comb. With the rat-tail comb, move up a weft and clip all the sectioned hair to the top of the head. Use large clips to section off the hair until you have one bottom layer of hair to start curling.

Step5: Start curling the bottom layer of hair. Let the curls sit close to your head for one minute.

Step6: Move onto the next section of hair. Loosen all the curls with your fingers to blend them. Set the style with hairspray.

If you curl your wig with Hot Water and Rods

Step1: Boil water over the wig. You should test the temperature after it boils, as it should curl around 170 and 180°F(77 and 82°C). If the temperature exceeds this, the synthetic fiber will melt. Turn off the heat and let the water cool for a few minutes, as it will be too hot to use right away.

Step2: Detangle the wig with your fingers or a wig brush. Place the wig on a flat surface, such as a table or counter, and gently run your fingers through the hair to undo it You can also comb the wig from bottom to top with a wig brush or wide-toothed comb

Step3: Curl sections of hair around dowel rods. Use end papers to secure the ends of the hair to the rods. You want to clip the end of your hair between a stick and then wrap the rest of your hair. Step4: Test a small piece of wig on high heat to make sure it doesn't all melt. If it melts, either the water is too hot, or the wig isn't heat-resistant.

Step5: Pour the hot water from the prepared wig into a saucepan. Let the water completely soak through the wig and place it in the pan for 5 to 10 minutes. If you're using a perm stick, simply soak the stick in hot water with your hair.

Step6: Remove the wig from the water and let dry for 3 hours. Leave the sticks in your hair and let them form curls. They can take anywhere from a few hours to a day to dry. If you want to speed up the process, use a hair dryer, but keep it on the lowest setting.

Take the pole off the wig. Touch the wig to make sure it is completely dry before taking out the rod. Carefully untie them from your hair so that you maintain a bouncy curl. But if you want to add volume and blend to your curls, use your fingers or a comb to comb them out.
